Urban Runner

This is my blog. I live, work and run in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm a regular 9 to 5er trying to find out what he can do with his running.

When I'm not running I've been known to enjoy the odd cup of coffee.

Another great day in Lake Placid

Just a few quick words tonight. Tomorrow is the big race. I have to get up at 3:45 to get to my volunteer commitment on time. This year I signed up for “Body Marking” for something different.
Today was a really nice, sunny not too humid of a day. I got to run and later was able to get a swim in on the Ironman course.
Today was probably the first day that the run didn’t feel too bad which is amazing considering everything that I did yesterday. Legs are still sore from the cycling but overall I’m not too bad. The humidity or lack of it made the run a lot more comfortable. Also everything was only in zone 1 today. Hills are still hills and this place is definitely not flat. So I worked a bit on the hills but didn’t push too hard to keep this to a true recovery run.
Later in the afternoon I went for a quick swim in Mirror Lake. It was quick ‘cause that’s all I can do. I still enjoyed it though. Lots of people still swimming today.
The crowds really picked up today. Everybody had to come in at some point to drop their bike off. It’s an amazing number of bikes many of which are worth way too much money.
Best go get ready for some sleep. Tomorrow will be a big day.
